Here’s The Basic Principals

On the normal days it is important to eat good healthy food and not pig out, remember the goal is to lose weight. The Every other Day diet or anyone of them for that matter will not work, if you do not participate and use a little bit of discretion. Those on the plan should eat a good meal, limit their deserts to one per day and avoid between meal snacking. Also the rules of eating early and tapering the meals to smaller portions at later times, is in effect with this diet. The reasons are because of the metabolism and how the body burns the calories off, so be sure to keep that in mind. If you can fit all your meals in before 7pm that is all the better! The QOD also gives a basic guideline of how many calories both men and women should be ingesting per day: men should consume somewhere in the neighborhood of 1800-2400 and women between 1200-1800, now that is a guide and can vary with activity levels.

On the low calories days, you should limit your calories to no more than 300, unless you exercise and then it can be increased to 400. Other tips such as warding off hunger are given in the guide to help you stay on the diet on those low calories days, as well as warding off cravings during those normal days!
